  • Salary: Up to £36,000 basic salary with an OTE of £50,000 per annum.
  • Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings 8:30am to 1:00pm.

Our client, a large multi-franchise approved car dealership, is currently looking to recruit a Workshop Controller to join their dealership in Cardiff.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be accountable for an 11-ramp workshop. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Day-to-day control of the workshop team.
  • Liaise with the Aftersales Manager and team to ensure the best process.
  • Ensure customer requirements are fully understood and communicated effectively to other members of the Service Department.
  • Monitor individual and workshop efficiencies to ensure key performance indicators are met.
  • To calculate and manage the effective use of the workshop.
  • Plan the distribution of work among the team utilising the available skills mix.
  • Identify individual training and development needs.
  • Manage liaison between workshop and service reception on customer vehicle progress.
  • Manage workshop standards by HSO requirements.
  • Ensure understanding and adherence to the requirements of brand service requirements and customer satisfaction indicators.
To be eligible, you will ideally live in the Cardiff region or live within a reasonable commuting distance to Cardiff and will need to have a proven track record in running a successful automotive workshop for the past three years, ideally within a franchise-approved car dealership. Overall, you will have excellent communication skills, good interpersonal skills and team orientation, be results-oriented, have problem-solving and decision-making skills, put a focus on quality and reliability, and be IT literate. You will also need to have a UK driving license with minimal points.

  • Up to £36,000 basic salary pending experience. 
  • Access to an hours sold, and quality-based customer-scored bonus schemes providing an on-target earnings of £50,000; however, this is uncapped!
