Vehicle Technician vacancy in Castle Donington!
  • Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 5:30pm | Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
This is a different type of Vehicle Technician role, with a strong customer-facing element. You’ll be responsible for fast-tracking vehicles that require minimal repair work or diagnosis, helping customers get their vehicles assessed and resolved as quickly as possible.

The role would particularly suit someone with experience working for organisations such as the AA or RAC, or a Vehicle Technician who is confident dealing directly with customers and explaining technical issues clearly.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out diagnostics on customer vehicles to identify faults promptly
  • Conduct road tests with customers to identify and verify vehicle problems
  • Explain diagnostic findings and repair requirements clearly to customers
  • Fit minor parts and trims where required
  • Use diagnostic equipment to accurately identify vehicle faults
  • Carry out minor repairs to help fast-track customers through the diagnosis process
  • Work closely with the Warranty Team to ensure customer waiting times are kept to a minimum
  • Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs and parts used
  • Make customers aware of any additional recommendations where necessary
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard
The ideal individual will have:
  • Previous experience as a qualified Vehicle Technician
  • IMI Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
  • Experience using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A confident, professional and customer-focused approach
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing, warranty, mobile or roadside environment would be advantageous
  • AA or RAC experience would be particularly well suited to this role
  • Full UK driving licence
