Our client is looking for a skilled Engine Rebuild Technician to join their team in Chelmsford, Essex. This role offers a challenging and rewarding environment for professionals passionate about vehicle repair and engine mechanics.

- Monday to Friday working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Rotational Saturday work every 1 in 4 weeks

- Strip, inspect, measure and rebuild engines to both manufacturer and company standards
- Diagnose engine faults and identify the root cause of mechanical issues
- Carry out complete engine overhauls, including replacing internal components
- Inspect engine parts for wear and damage, ensuring all parts meet specifications
- Reassemble engines with high precision and attention to detail
- Conduct engine testing and quality assurance checks post-rebuild
- Maintain comprehensive records of work, parts used and measurements taken
- Utilise diagnostic tools and technical data to support repairs and fault diagnosis
- Ensure workshop equipment and tools are maintained and used correctly
- Keep the workshop environment clean, safe and organised in line with health and safety standards
- Ensure all work is completed to high standards, minimising rework and maximising customer satisfaction
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in engine rebuilding, overhauls, or advanced mechanical repairs
- Strong understanding of engine systems and manufacturer repair procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a busy workshop environment
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
- Knowledge of manufacturer specifications and repair standards
- Full UK driving licence
