We are currently recruiting for an experienced Vehicle Bodybuilder / Coachbuilder to join a well-established and highly respected commercial vehicle body manufacturing business based in Trafford Park, Manchester.
  • Salary: £35,500 Basic Salary (Overtime is available) 
  • Hours: 44 hours per week
  • Working Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:30pm, Friday 7:00am–3:30pm
  • Type: Permanent
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and hands-on individual looking to work within a professional manufacturing environment, building and finishing high-quality commercial vehicle bodies from the ground up. The successful individual will be responsible for a variety of bodybuilding, fitting and finishing duties, working from engineering drawings and job specifications to ensure every vehicle is completed to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building, fitting and finishing commercial vehicle bodies to a high standard.
  • Reading and working from engineering drawings, specifications and works orders.
  • Installing insulated panels to commercial freezer and refrigerated vehicle bodies.
  • Using a range of hand tools, bench saws and measurement equipment safely and effectively.
  • Cutting and shaping metals, timber and plastics using hand and bench equipment.
  • Carrying out electrical termination work for lighting, switches and tail lifts.
  • Sealing joints, floors and roofs using silicone and gel coatings.
  • Working independently and using your own initiative to meet production deadlines.
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
  • Following all company health & safety, quality control and manufacturing procedures.
  • Ensuring all completed work meets the required quality and safety standards.
Requirments:
  • Previous experience in vehicle bodybuilding, coachbuilding or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • A good understanding of vehicle body construction and manufacturing processes.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience using a wide range of hand and workshop tools.
  • Good practical and mechanical skills with a strong eye for detail.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A positive, reliable and proactive approach to work.
  • A strong commitment to health & safety and quality.
  • Reliable transport to get to the Trafford Park site.
