This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Vehicle Technician who enjoys working independently and wants the freedom and variety that comes with a mobile role.

The position is predominantly focused on commercial vehicles, with around 95% of the workload involving vans, particularly Ford Transits. You'll travel directly to customer locations to carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, warranty work and repairs, supported by a fully equipped company vehicle and comprehensive tooling.

Responsibilities:
  • Vehicle servicing and routine maintenance.
  • PDI work.
  • Brake replacements.
  • Timing belt replacements, including working on Ford Transits off site.
  • Diagnostic work across both warranty and retail repairs.
  • Recalls and warranty repairs.
  • Vehicle health checks and identifying additional work required.
  • Completing repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintaining accurate job records and paperwork.
  • Providing excellent customer service and representing the business professionally.
  • Managing your own workload and working independently across the local area.

The role covers a broad range of work, with the exception of engine replacements, cylinder head work, clutches and high-voltage work.

There may also be occasions where you are required to stay away overnight to meet business requirements. This would be discussed with you in advance and arranged with consideration for your personal circumstances.

Requirements:
  • A Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • At least 3 years' experience as a Vehicle Technician.
  • Previous main dealer experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability.
  • Experience with Ford vehicles and warranty procedures would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working on commercial vehicles, particularly Ford Transits, would be beneficial.
  • The confidence to carry out timing belt replacements on Transits away from a workshop.
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.

Ford dealer experience would be ideal, particularly candidates with good knowledge of Ford warranty procedures. However, applications will also be considered from experienced technicians with main dealer experience with other manufacturers.

Benefits:
  • Time Saved Bonus Plan.
  • Overtime available when required
  • No weekend working.
  • Fully equipped Ford Transit company vehicle.
  • Company vehicle can be kept at home.
  • Company fuel card for business use.
  • Excellent manufacturer training and development opportunities.
  • Access to the Ford training pathway, with technicians encouraged and supported to book relevant Ford training courses and progress through their development pathway.
  • Long-term career development opportunities.
