Senior Technician Needed for Main Dealer in Stockport
  • Salary: Up to £48,200 OTE – Uncapped
  • Basic Salary: Up to £38,000 DOE
  • Additional Earnings: £3,000 Productivity Bonus + Time Saved Bonus Scheme
  • Hours: 40 hours Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm + 1 in 3 Saturdays, 8:30am–12:30pm

Perfect Placement are currently recruiting for a Senior Vehicle Technician / Diagnostic Technician to join our client's busy and successful workshop in Stockport.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Vehicle Technician looking to join an established automotive business offering excellent earning potential, manufacturer training and genuine opportunities for career development.

You’ll be joining a team of 10 experienced Technicians and 3 Apprentices, working within a well-equipped workshop and supported by an experienced Aftersales Manager.

The Role:

As a Senior Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing, repairs, diagnostics and vehicle health checks to the highest possible standard.

Your duties will include:
  • Carrying out vehicle servicing and maintenance in line with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Completing vehicle health checks using the latest diagnostic technology.
  • Carrying out additional repairs once authorised by the customer.
  • Completing warranty repairs in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
  • Conducting road tests to ensure faults have been rectified correctly.
  • Completing all relevant paperwork and job cards to a high standard.
  • Maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and customer service.
The successful Vehicle Technician will ideally have:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician within a main dealer or independent garage.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic ability.
  • A full and valid UK driving licence.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • The ability to work independently while also supporting the wider workshop team.
  • A proactive and ambitious approach to their career.
Diagnostic, MOT and Hybrid/EV experience would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Previous main dealer experience is desirable, although candidates from independent garages are also encouraged to apply. Full manufacturer-specific training and accreditation will be provided where required.
