  Our client is a prestigious automotive company specialising in luxury and bespoke vehicles. They are looking for an experienced Vehicle Trimmer / Vehicle Upholsterer to join the team at their facility in the Leeds area.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced vehicle upholsterer or trimmer with a strong background in leather to work on luxury and prestige vehicles and become part of a highly-skilled team.

For this Vehicle Trimmer / Upholsterer role you will be
  • Installing, repairing, replacing and modifying vehicle leather interiors to an exceptionally high standard.
  • Carrying out vehicle leather trimming in accordance with templates, sketches and blueprints.
  • Measuring and cutting leather and carrying out sewing, gluing, stretching, smoothing and trimming.
  • Disassembling and reassembling vehicle interiors.
  • Working with leather, wood, veneers, precious metals and other bespoke interior materials.
  • Carrying out veneer repairs and bespoke interior trim development.
  • Completing smart leather repairs as required.
  • Working with cutting machines, sewing machines and specialist fixtures and equipment.
  • Maintaining accurate paperwork and job documentation.
  • Supporting pattern trials and the development of in-house trimming processes.
  • Contributing ideas and feedback to improve the efficiency and quality of the trim process.
  • Sharing knowledge with other Workshop Technicians where appropriate.
  • Representing the company and its brand when working with international distributors.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy working environment.
  • Assisting with mentoring apprentices and supporting other areas of the business when required.
For this Vehicle Trimmer / Upholsterer role you will need
  • 3–5 years' experience as a Vehicle Trimmer / Vehicle Upholsterer, with particular emphasis on leather.
  • Experience working with luxury and/or prestige vehicles is desirable.
  • Experience measuring and cutting different types of leather.
  • Strong sewing, gluing, stretching, smoothing and trimming skills.
  • The ability to disassemble and reassemble vehicle interiors.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately from templates, sketches and blueprints.
  • A practical and methodical approach to problem-solving.
  • The ability to work to targets and meet deadlines in a busy workshop environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and a good working knowledge of English.
  • The ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues, suppliers and customers.
