We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic to join our client's busy accident repair centre in York.

Duties that you will do in this position:
  • Diagnose suspension and steering issues using diagnostic equipment and test drives
  • Repair or replace worn suspension components including shock absorbers, struts, and control arms
  • Perform wheel alignment to manufacturer specifications for optimal handling
  • Inspect and service steering systems, including power steering pumps, racks, and linkages
  • Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication and adjustments on suspension and steering parts
  • Test drive vehicles after repairs to ensure all issues have been successfully resolved
  • Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are safe and fit for purpose
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including the use of PPE
Requirements that are needed for this role:
  • Proven experience as a mechanic within an automotive repair environment
  • In-depth knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair, particularly suspension and steering systems
  • Strong understanding of ADAS systems
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle repair is desirable
  • High attention to detail and meticulous working approach
  • Ability to complete tasks efficiently within set timeframes and to a high standard
  • Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
