Our client is a successful and established automotive bodyshop in Kirkby, Nottingham, looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor to join their busy accident repair centre. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced VDA to join a professional bodyshop environment, assessing vehicle damage, preparing accurate repair estimates and working closely with customers, insurers and the workshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and to the required standards.
  • Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week – flexible working hours available
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Carry out thorough vehicle damage assessments following accident damage.
  • Prepare accurate estimates for vehicle repairs using appropriate estimating systems.
  • Assess repair methods, parts requirements and labour times.
  • Liaise with insurance companies and other relevant parties regarding repair authorisation.
  • Communicate with customers regarding vehicle damage, repairs and expected timescales.
  • Work closely with the workshop team to ensure repair plans are accurate and achievable.
  • Monitor repair progress and amend estimates where additional damage is identified.
  • Ensure all repairs are planned and completed in line with manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all relevant systems are kept up to date.
  • Help ensure vehicles are returned to customers within agreed timescales.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the repair process.
Our client is looking for an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor with:
  • Previous experience working as a VDA within a bodyshop or accident repair environment.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle repair methods and accident damage.
  • Experience producing accurate repair estimates.
  • Good understanding of insurance repair processes.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple vehicles and priorities effectively.
  • A professional and proactive approach to work.
  • The ability to work effectively with customers, insurers and workshop colleagues.
