Reporting to the Service Controllers, as a Mobile Technician, your main duties will include carrying out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on utility vans and light commercial vehicles at customer sites. You will also be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults, including issues relating to power take-off (PTO) systems, hydraulic power packs, tail lifts, vehicle-mounted cranes and winches. You will carry out vehicle safety and compliance checks, respond to breakdowns and urgent repair requests, and ensure all work is completed to a high standard, fixing faults correctly the first time wherever possible. You will also be required to complete job reports using a tablet, recording photographs, hours worked and parts used, while communicating with the service team regarding any further repairs required.
To be eligible for this role, you will ideally be qualified to IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, although equivalent practical experience will also be considered. You will need to hold a full UK driving licence, have your own hand tools and be comfortable working independently at customer sites. Experience working with PTO systems, tail lifts, hydraulics or mobile/roadside repairs would be advantageous, although training can be provided for a strong vehicle technician.
