Our client, one of the UK's leading automotive accident repair groups with sites nationwide, is currently looking to hire an experienced and professional Vehicle MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician to join their Swansea centre.
  • Salary: Negotiable starting salary pending experience.
  • Hours: 42.5-hour week, Monday to Friday.
  • Benefits: Enhanced annual leave, internal and external training, enhanced maternity/paternity pay, access to "Perkbox" offering hundreds of exclusive discounts and awards, and a healthcare scheme, amongst others.
Reporting to the Bodyshop Manager and working as part of a large team, your responsibilities will include:
  • Carrying out the removal, repair and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components on a wide range of vehicles.
  • Performing vehicle diagnostics, calibration and four-wheel alignment checks where required.
  • Completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair methods, industry standards and company procedures.
  • Working with the latest vehicle technologies, including electric and hybrid vehicles.
  • Identifying additional damage and repair requirements, communicating these effectively to the wider repair team.

To be eligible, you will ideally have a recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or be working towards an IMI qualification. However, our client is willing to consider individuals with no formal qualifications who have a proven track record in vehicle body repair/strip and fit. Overall, you will be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, carry out duties as detailed on job cards to manufacturer and company standards, use initiative and have the ability to prioritise workload to meet delivery times and customers’ expectations, and be able to work independently but liaise effectively with colleagues and support others by multi-tasking during busy periods. A UK driving licence with minimal points is essential at this stage.

What's in it for you? For your hard work as an MET Technician, our client will offer the successful individual the following:
