  • Basic Salary: Up to £45,000
  • Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:30pm (No Weekends)

My client is a well-known and established independent garage in Bedford. Established for over 35 years, they have built an excellent reputation for providing honest, high-quality vehicle servicing and repairs. They are also an authorised Bosch Car Service Centre, giving their technicians access to the latest diagnostic equipment and technology.

They are now looking to recruit an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their friendly and experienced workshop team.

You'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a variety of vehicles, as well as carrying out MOT tests. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled Technician and qualified MOT Tester to maximise their earning potential while enjoying a great work-life balance.

Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester Responsibilities:
  • Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs to a variety of vehicles, predominantly cars with occasional vans.
  • Conducting fault diagnosis and identifying mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Using modern diagnostic equipment to accurately identify and rectify faults.
  • Carrying out MOT tests (Class 4, with potential Class 7 testing).
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Accurately recording vehicle faults and work carried out.
  • Maintaining high standards of workshop safety, efficiency and housekeeping.
Requirements:
  • NVQ Level 3 qualified Vehicle Technician or equivalent.
  • Time-served Technicians without formal qualifications are also encouraged to apply.
  • Previous workshop experience, ideally 3+ years.
  • Valid MOT Tester Licence - Essential (Class 4).
  • Own tools.
  • Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Experience working on German vehicles would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • A genuine interest in developing technical skills and progressing your career.
