MOT Tester / Technician Required for Family Run Car Garage in Liss 

We are seeking an experienced MOT Tester / Technician to join our clients established workshop business based in Liss, Hampshire. This is a varied, hands-on position for someone who can confidently carry out MOT testing, diagnose and repair vehicle faults, and support the smooth running of a busy workshop. The role offers a salary of up to £50,000 depending on experience, with Monday to Friday working hours and no weekend shifts.

  • No weekend or bank holiday working
  • 20 days’ holiday, plus bank holidays and with a Christmas closure

Duties:
  • Carry out MOT tests in line with current testing standards
  • Complete MOT failure repairs and ensure vehicles are prepared for retesting
  • Carry out servicing, maintenance and general mechanical repairs
  • Diagnose faults accurately and recommend suitable repair solutions 
  • Complete brake repairs, inspections and other routine workshop work
  • Provide support and direction to the workshop team where required
  • Communicate clearly with customers regarding vehicle faults, repairs and servicing
  • Assist with answering telephone enquiries and supporting the day-to-day operation of the workshop
  • Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and customer service
Requirements:
  • Valid MOT Tester qualification
  • Previous experience working as an MOT Tester / Technician within a busy workshop environment
  • Strong mechanical repair and vehicle diagnostic skills
  • Experience carrying out servicing, brake repairs and MOT failure work
  • A professional approach with good communication and customer service skills
  • The ability to work independently while supporting colleagues within the workshop
  • A full UK driving licence
  • A dependable and organised approach to workshop responsibilities
