Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Field Service Engineer

  • Up to £38,500 Basic Salary + Overtime
Reporting to a dedicated Service Controller, we have an exciting opportunity for a Mobile Plant Mechanic / Mobile Field Service Engineer to join our client's team.

The client is building its workforce and number of physical sites and needs another member of staff to cope with growth.  This is somewhere you can move with confidence, and you will be joining existing placements of ours in the workforce as they continue their careers.

Key Duties of a Mobile Plant Mechanic:
  •  Completion and submissions of reports and hours.
  •  Travelling to and working at customer sites servicing and resolving problems on heavy plant.
  •  Liaising with service team and technical support to solve problems, order parts.
You will ideally have working knowledge on heavy plant including:
  •  Wheeled Loaders
  •  Excavators
  •  Track Loaders
  •  Shredders
  •  Screens
  •  Waste Handlers
Competency & Understanding:
  •  Understanding of in engine after treatment systems, SCR, DPF
  •  Good problem solving and diagnostic skills
  •  Good IT skills
  •  Good literacy skills
  •  Good Communications skills
  •  Competent with reading/understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics 
  •  Good understanding of electrical circuits
Qualifications Needed:
  •  Driving Licence
  •  Apprentice NVQ level 3 plant maintenance or similar
  •  Quarry passport
  •  Passport to safety
  •  Air conditioning
What You Would Need:
  •  Experienced in a similar role
  •  Must be comfortable working as part of a team and on own initiative
  •  Must be flexible with working hours when required (possible late nights or weekend work)
What's the Package? 
  •  Basic Working Hours - 0800 - 1630 / 40 hours per week
  •  Opportunities for overtime as and when required
  •  Up to £38,500 depending on experience
  •  Holiday entitlement – 32 days
