Fire Installation Engineer
Our Client, an expanding and technically demanding Fire and Security Company based in Stevenage are looking for a Fire Installation Engineer where the successful Candidate will have the opportunity of progression in their career.
Wages depend on experience from £30,000 up. OTE £45,000 including company van.
They are looking for candidates with at least five years’ experience in the Fire Installation and Servicing field.
Ideally Fire Installation Engineers will live within 25 - 30 miles of Stevenage.
This Fire Installation Engineer position covers the following areas:
- Geographical Areas: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, London, Middlesex, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire, Suffolk.
- Preferred Areas: Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, Hertfordshire, Northamptonshire, North London. Normally they do no more than 10% work within Central London.
- Their customer base is varied covering: domestic, retail, commercial, schools, care homes but they do not work on railways or airports airside.
Brief Fire Installation Engineer Job Description:
To install fire alarm systems, high sensitivity smoke sensing systems, voice alarms / public address systems, emergency lighting, nurse / warden / staff call systems, induction loops and other associated systems at their customers' premises. You will be required to
complete all documentation, in accordance with the appropriate British Standards requirements, Approval Bodies and Company Policy.
Our client expects the Fire Installation Engineer to be experienced or familiar with the following types of equipment; Morley, C-Tec, Advanced, Kidde, Vesda, Apollo.
Basic Hours of Work: 40 hours per week commencing at 08:30 with a 1/2 for lunch (Unpaid) each day to be taken between 12:00-14:00
The Fire Installation Engineer is expected to arrive at their customer's site at 08:30 and not leave before 17:00 unless other arrangements have been made for them. The Fire Installation Engineer may from time to time be required to work additional hours in order to meet the needs of the business.
There is overtime payable for Non-Call Out / Travelling Time to customers locations.
In addition to the normal working hours, the Fire Installation Engineer will be expected to be included on the Duty Engineers' Roster for 24 hours a day, 365 days a year emergency call outs, which is usually one week in six.
On average, the engineers have around four out of hours call outs per week, but this is decreasing with having telephone conversations with customers instead. Their Fire Duty Engineers receive £214.00 per week, separate rates apply to bank and public holidays, plus premium rates.
