Our client, a leading independent vehicle assessing firm are currently seeking a Field-based Vehicle Damage Assessor for the East London and South Essex Region. You will be working within several accident repair centres, alongside visiting vehicle owners’ home and work addresses. They work with over 60 + different insurance providers, alongside accident management firms, and emergency services.
This is a key role for the business, ensuring that their clients are receiving accurate reporting and inspections of their vehicles. You will be covering an area from East London across to Southend.
This is a customer facing role and with support from your team, will entail estimating on various accident repair sites as well as liaising with clients to arrange a suitable time to assess the vehicle at their homes/places of work, on average covering 7 – 8 inspections per day.

What our client expects of their Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator:
- Self-Motivated and able to work without supervision.
- To work to a high level of professionalism and ethical standards.
- Ideally you will have an ATA Vehicle Damage Assessor Qualification or working towards this.
- String working knowledge of Vehicle construction and Repair techniques.
- Working knowledge of estimating systems such as Audatex, Glass Repair Estimates or similar
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent time management skills
- An understanding of vehicle salvage categorisation.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- An understanding of insurance principals and motor claims process.
- You will need to have a full UK/EU Driving Licence.
- Right to work within the UK.
Ideally you will already be working as an Engineer Assessor and qualified to ATA VDA or IAEA level or working towards and also be AQP qualified for salvage categorisation. You must be able to demonstrate a methodical approach to your work with a good eye for detail and accuracy. You will need to be familiar with modern repair techniques for all types of motor vehicles and be self-motivated in your work with experience of modern estimating systems.
