  • Starting salary of £36,000 per annum with a bonus scheme/overtime providing a £41,940 annual on-target earnings.
  • Monday to Friday, 42.5-hour week. 8:00am-5:30pm with an hour lunch and 1 in 2 Saturdays, 8:00am-12:00pm, paid at time and a half.

Our client, the UK's largest car/light commercial vehicle rental provider, is currently looking to recruit a fully qualified Vehicle Technician to join their busy Cardiff branch to look after their fleet of vehicles. 

Reporting to the Workshop Manager and working as part of a team of four other Vehicle Technicians and an apprentice, as a Vehicle Technician, you shall use your technical knowledge to work on the electrical and mechanical systems for a range of car and light commercial vehicles. You will use the diagnostic equipment to get to the root cause of faults, carry out technical maintenance, repair or replace parts, perform preventive maintenance and MOT preparation.

To be eligible, you will ideally live within a reasonable commuting distance of Cardiff and be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair as a minimum, with ideally 1 to 2 years' experience post-qualification. For those trained to Level 2, you can take a training needs analysis so our client can build a personalised training program for you to increase your skillset. A UK driving license with minimal points is also essential. Overall, you will need to be a team player, be capable of working to the standards of the business, have an organised and methodical approach to your workload with a high quality of workmanship, and be comfortable working in a busy workshop environment.
