Service Manager – Agricultural Machinery
  • Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (occasional weekend availability as required)

Our client, a reputable and family-run agricultural machinery dealership, is seeking an experienced and driven Service Manager to lead the service department at their Stratford-upon-Avon depot. Representing major brands such as JCB Agriculture, Amazone, McHale, Lemken, and Sumo, this is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical knowledge and leadership skills to join a growing and supportive business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring high levels of productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Allocate work effectively to engineers and monitor job progress, ensuring deadlines and manufacturer standards are met.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to the engineering team as required.
  • Liaise with customers to understand their service needs, resolve issues, and deliver a professional aftersales experience.
  • Manage service schedules, job cards, warranty claims, and invoicing.
  • Monitor workshop performance metrics (labour hours, efficiency, recovery rates) and implement improvements.
  • Coordinate training and development for engineers, including manufacturer training and internal skills development.
  • Maintain health and safety compliance within the workshop and field-based operations.
  • Assist in planning and preparing for seasonal demand, shows, and demo events.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Service Manager, Workshop Manager, or Lead Engineer role within the agricultural sector.
  • Strong technical understanding of agricultural or heavy machinery – ideally with experience in electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
  • Proven team leadership and people management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient with service software, job scheduling systems, and reporting tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
