Our client, a commercial vehicle motor factor with sites across the South West, is looking for a Area Sales Manager to join their team. A rewarding and varied role with career progression for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities/duties of a Area Sales Manager include:
  • Managing the sales team within your area.
  • Identify new business and develop existing business within your area through well executed sales planning.
  • Organise your team to carry out local market research and monitor and report information about competitor activity.
  • Achieve growth in line with budget.
  • Manage your team of BDM’s by measuring them against set business KPIs.
  • Responsible for the delivery of sales promotions and marketing material
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers.
  • Performance manages your team of BDMs.
  • Identification of training requirements for your team of BDMs
  • Assist in customer visits.
  • High level of commercial awareness
  • Answering telephone queries and dealing with electronic queries, turning enquiries into sales. 
  • Fully satisfy customer needs in respect of any part orders, respects or queries they may have.
  • Contribute to a positive team performance whilst working on personal benchmarks to optimise personal performance and work on sale product promotions
  • Develop knowledge of products through study of internal literature
  • Control the Stock in the business
  • Meet with customers 

The successful candidate ideally will come from an automotive/agricultural/technical background however our client will be open to candidates who would like to join the Automotive sector and have a willingness to learn new skills.
