Workshop Controller As Workshop Controller, you’ll be the driving force behind the daily operations of a busy, modern workshop. You’ll manage a talented team of Technicians, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest manufacturer standards.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads from the front, and has a passion for both people and process management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage, and support a team of Vehicle Technicians to ensure high productivity and first-time-fix rates
- Allocate work effectively to maintain workshop flow and maximise efficiency
- Oversee job progress and provide technical support when needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with manufacturer and dealer group standards
- Liaise with service advisors and parts departments to keep customers informed and workshops running smoothly
- Monitor and improve workshop KPIs including efficiency, utilisation, and quality of work
- Ensure a safe and compliant working environment in line with H&S policies
- Up to £37,000 basic salary – depending on experience
- Realistic OTE of £48,000+ through achievable performance bonuses
- Monday to Friday working hours, with only 1 in 4 Saturdays
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays

- Previous experience as a Workshop Controller or Senior Technician/Foreman ready for the next step
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Sound mechanical knowledge with a hands-on, problem-solving approach
- Organised, efficient, and confident managing a fast-moving workshop
- Full UK driving licence
