HGV Technician Needed in Stockport
  • Location: Stockport
  • Working Hours: Permanent Night Shift – 4 on / 4 off, 19:00 – 07:00
  • Salary: up to £50,000 per annum + Overtime 
Our client, a well-established and reputable business within the commercial sector, is looking for, ideally, a Level 3 qualified HGV Technician to join their vehicle maintenance team. However, they will also consider candidates with Light Vehicle Maintenance qualifications looking to move into the commercial industry.

Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:

  • Maintain and repair HGVs to VOSA and company standards
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
  • Carry out scheduled inspections and MOT preparations
  • Ensure vehicle availability in line with delivery schedules
  • Promote and uphold health and safety practices (Zero Harm target)
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and audit-ready workspace
  • Support continuous improvement within the Vehicle Maintenance Unit (VMU)
  • Work flexibly across various VMU tasks as required
Requirements for a HGV Technician:
  • Strong experience in LGV fleet maintenance operations
  • City & Guilds LGV qualifications or equivalent in LGV Vehicle Crafts
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and teamwork skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • An LGV C+E licence is desirable but not essential
