Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:30 – 17:00 (occasional weekend work during peak season)
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Service Manager to lead the aftersales and PDI operations at a busy automotive dealership in Deeside. This is a fantastic opportunity for a strong leader with a passion for customer satisfaction, technical excellence, and team development.
Job Purpose
To manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of the service department, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction, technical quality, and workshop efficiency. You will lead a team of technicians and service staff, handle scheduling and quality control, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all aspects of the service department
- Lead and support a team of technicians, maintaining productivity, training, and performance standards
- Oversee all service bookings, including repairs, maintenance, habitation checks, and warranty work
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently, on time, and to a high quality
- Manage parts inventory and supplier relationships to ensure timely availability of required items
- Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and quality assurance procedures
- Provide hands-on technical support and diagnostics when required
- Maintain a clean, well-organised, and customer-friendly workshop environment
- Assist with budgeting, cost management, and identifying operational improvements
- Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a service or workshop environment
- Previous experience in the motorhome or caravan industry is an advantage but not essential
- Familiarity with habitation checks, gas safety, electrical systems (12V/240V), water systems, and chassis servicing
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong technical, diagnostic, and problem-solving abilities
- High levels of organisation and time management
- Customer-focused with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- IT literate, with experience using service systems and Microsoft Office
- Capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Competitive salary: £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience
