Our client; a highly regarded vehicle service centre group based in Reading is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join their dynamic and expanding team. About the Role As a Senior Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality vehicle maintenance and repair services. Your responsibilities will include: 
  • Servicing and Repairs: Conduct routine maintenance, including oil changes, brake repairs, and engine servicing, ensuring all work meets manufacturer and industry standards.
  • Diagnostic Expertise: Utilise state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues efficiently.
  • MOT Testing: Perform MOT tests in compliance with DVSA regulations, ensuring vehicles meet safety and environmental standards.
  • Bespoke Upgrades and Conversions: Execute custom modifications, such as performance enhancements, suspension upgrades, and aesthetic improvements, tailored to customer specifications.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a skilled team of technicians, sharing expertise and ensuring all jobs are completed to the highest quality and within agreed timelines.
  • Customer Interaction: Communicate effectively with customers to explain technical issues, recommend solutions, and ensure complete satisfaction with the service provided.
  • Workshop Efficiency: Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and best practices.
Requirements for this Senior Vehicle MOT Technician role: 
  • Qualifications: A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. A valid MOT Tester certification (Class 4 and 7) is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, with a strong background in diagnostics, repairs, and servicing across a range of vehicle makes and models.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools and software, with a solid understanding of modern vehicle systems, including hybrid and electric vehicles.
  • Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to work, ensuring all tasks are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Team Player: Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive workshop environment.
  • Customer Focus: A professional and approachable demeanour, with the ability to build trust and rapport with customers.
  • Driving License: A full UK driving license is essential.
