Our client, a reputable and busy HGV Service & Repair Centre in Southampton, is seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile HGV / LCV Technician to join their dedicated team. This role involves working on a diverse fleet of vans, trucks, and trailers, with opportunities to carry out roadside, breakdown, and workshop repairs. If you're passionate about commercial vehicles, enjoy working flexibly, and have a strong work ethic, this could be the perfect role for you. Duties of a Mobile HGV / LCV Technician with our client:
  • Servicing and repairing a variety of commercial vehicles, including vans, trucks, and trailers
  • Diagnosing faults using advanced electronic diagnostic tools and software
  • Carrying out repairs such as brake, clutch, and timing belt replacements
  • Engine and gearbox dismantling, repair, and reassembly
  • Making accurate estimates for repairs and advising customers on work needed
  • Working both in the workshop and on mobile service vans, with travel involved
  • Maintaining high standards of safety and vehicle quality throughout all work
  • Communicating effectively with team members and customers to ensure smooth operations
What our client expects of their HGV / LCV Technicians:
  • Fully qualified up to NVQ Level 3 or 2 or equivalent (time-served candidates also considered)
  • Recently qualified candidates considered 
  • Proven experience with HGV, LCV and commercial vehicle repairs
  • Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with electronic systems
  • Class 1 or Class 2 HGV licence is beneficial but not essential
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable, hardworking, and able to work independently and within a team
  • Flexibility with working hours, including early starts and mobile work
  • Driving licence essential for mobile site work
