As a General Manager; you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and ensuring all departments are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. You’ll lead multiple teams across accounts, sales, workshop, and emerging business functions, ensuring productivity, profitability, and exceptional service delivery.
You’ll play a pivotal part in shaping the culture, developing teams, and implementing the systems and processes needed to support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities Strategic & Financial Leadership:
- Develop and implement business strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Monitor profitability and analyse financials to drive continuous improvement.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
- Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operations across all departments.
- Implement quality assurance measures and process optimisation.
- Monitor resource utilisation, workflow efficiency, and output quality.
- Lead, motivate, and inspire a high-performing workforce.
- Oversee recruitment, training, and employee development.
- Manage performance reviews, engagement initiatives, and conflict resolution.
- Promote diversity, inclusion, and employee wellbeing.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
- Monitor cash flow, risk management, and financial governance.
- Work with external accountants on detailed financial analysis.
- Oversee sales performance, KPIs, SLAs, and quality of delivery.
- Support sales teams with commercial insight and business alignment.
- Ensure systems, tools, and processes are utilised effectively.
- Assess workshop efficiency, productivity, and output quality.
- Align workshop activity with profitability targets.
- Support managers and technicians to deliver high standards of repair and service.
- Support the development of new functions, including inventory, parts, and facilities.
- Oversee stock efficiency, facility maintenance, and operational infrastructure.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, diversification, and growth.
- Proven experience in a senior leadership or GM-level role within an automotive or engineering environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, KPIs, and financial performance.
- Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to build, develop, and inspire multi-disciplinary teams.
- Highly organised, strategic, and solutions-focused.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise at board level.
- Capable of delivering growth through operational excellence and continuous improvement.
