Duties for the Restoration Mechanic role:
  • Performing heavy mechanical repairs, including engine rebuilds, gearbox removals, and component replacements.
  • Carrying out bodywork restoration, panel fitting, and paint preparation as part of vehicle refurbishment.
  • Supporting classic car restorations with a focus on authentic repairs and attention to detail
  • Working on both mechanical systems and body repairs to ensure a complete restoration process
  • Assisting in diagnosing and resolving mechanical and bodywork issues throughout restoration projects
  • Collaborating closely with team members to meet project milestones and quality standards.
Requirements for the Restoration Mechanic role:
  • Proven experience working on classic or vintage cars, with a mixture of mechanical and bodywork skills
  • Strong mechanical skills, including engine and gearbox repairs, mechanical troubleshooting
  • Experience in bodywork restoration, panel fitting, or paint preparation is highly desirable
  • Meticulous attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
  • A flexible approach to project work, combining mechanical repairs with body restoration tasks
  • NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualification
  • Reliable and team-oriented attitude with a passion for classic car restoration
  • Ability to commute reliably to Crawley Down and supportive of working within a workshop environment
