MOT Tester & Vehicle Technician required – Poole, Dorset Salary: Up to £35,000 basic + £40,000 OTE with performance-based bonuses
  • Hours: Monday–Friday 08:30–17:30, Saturdays on rota

Our client, a distinguished independent provider of Tyre, MOT, and vehicle servicing with over 50 years of expertise, operates over 12 premier service centres across South England who employ over 240 professionals, they are renowned for delivering exceptional automotive care. They are seeking a highly skilled MOT Tester & Vehicle Technician with a commitment to precision, quality, and outstanding customer service to join their workshop team in Poole to help with MOT testing class 4 and doing associated MOT failure repairs.

Duties:
  • Conduct MOT tests in strict compliance with VOSA (DVSA) standards, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Perform comprehensive vehicle servicing, including routine maintenance, MOT failure repairs, nothing to heavy
  • Execute repairs across a range of vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, suspension, and electronics
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic equipment to identify and resolve technical issues promptly
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service, communicating technical information clearly to clients when required
  • Mentor and support junior technicians, fostering a collaborative team environment
What our client is looking for in their MOT Tester / Vehicle Technician:
  • A valid MOT Testing Licence (essential)
  • Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds, BTEC, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent) in vehicle mechanics or a related field
  • Proven expertise in vehicle diagnostics, electronics, and general servicing
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with a professional demeanor
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while managing individual responsibilities
  • A proactive, organised approach to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards
  • Full UK driving licence (preferred)
