HGV Technician – 4 on 4 off
  • Location: Preston 
  • Salary: Competitive basic salary + Overtime + Shift Allowance 
  • Hours: 4 on 4 off rotating shifts (6am–2pm, 2pm–10pm, 10pm–6am)
A leading and well-established commercial vehicle dealership in Lancashire is expanding its team and introducing a new 4-on-4 off shift pattern. We are now seeking a qualified HGV Technician to join the workshop, which already employs over 25 skilled Technicians.

Key Responsibilities for the HGV Technician:
  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs in line with manufacturer standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Complete job cards and all associated paperwork accurately.
  • Work to Health & Safety and DVSA standards at all times.
  • Participate in shift work on a rota basis, supporting the needs of the business.
Requirements for the HGV Technician:
  • Fully qualified HGV Technician (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Post-apprenticeship experience in a commercial vehicle workshop environment.
  • DAF product knowledge or experience is desirable but not essential.
  • Confident working with diagnostics, fault-finding, and modern workshop systems.
  • A flexible approach to shift work and a strong team ethic.
