HGV Technician - Swindon
  • Salary: Between £40-44,000 per annum, pending experience, plus uncapped monthly bonuses providing an additional £6,300 annually.
  • Hours: 2-weekly early/late shift rota. Week 1: 6:00am-3:00pm Mon to Fri. Week 2: 1:00pm-10:00pm Mon to Fri

We are seeking Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technicians to join our client's franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealership in Swindon. Our client is a privately owned automotive retail group based in the south of England, and has been operating for over 95 years.

As an HGV Technician, reporting to the Workshop Manager, your key objectives will include:
  • Through the use of diagnostic equipment and a systematic approach, ensure vehicle faults are diagnosed and rectified.  
  • Meet with customers to identify and clearly understand problems as and when required.
  • Ensure full understanding of the latest technology introduced on the vehicle range and how to diagnose and repair faults on them.
  • Carry out diagnosis, repairs and servicing to the highest standards and to the appropriate specification.
  • Ensure all work is carried out observing safe working practices of self and others.
  • Complete relevant service documentation (job sheets, PDIs, service reports) in line with brand standards, warranty and site requirements.
  • Ensure that workshop housekeeping standards are maintained at all times, including the use of special and personal tools.
To be eligible, you should ideally be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with several years of experience. You should be a committed individual and a good team player, capable of producing high-quality work in a busy workshop environment, and motivated to meet team targets. An active HGV driving license would be advantageous, but is not essential.

For your hard work as an HGV Technician, our client is offering:
  • Starting salary between £40-44,000 per annum, pending experience.
  • Uncapped monthly bonuses providing an additional £6,300 annually.
  • Optional overtime based on availability, paid at an enhanced rate.
