Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician Vacancy in Andover
  • Salary: From £40,000 per annum pending experience plus a performance-related bonus scheme (£55,000 uncapped annual OTE).
  • Hours: 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.

Due to business expansion, our client, an independent automotive accident repair centre in Andover, is looking to recruit two Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technicians to join their business. 

Reporting to management and working as part of a friendly team, your key responsibilities as a Vehicle MET/Strip Fit Technician will include:
  • Strip and refit body panels, trims, and interior components
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical repairs to manufacturer standards
  • Diagnose, plan, and order parts as needed to meet deadlines
  • Maintain high-quality and safety standards throughout all work
To be eligible, you will ideally have a recognised qualification in automotive MET/vehicle body repair or be working towards an IMI qualification. Our client, however, is willing to consider candidates with no formal qualifications who have a prior track record in vehicle body repair/strip and fit or from a motor vehicle mechanical background with experience in suspension, steering, and other more complex mechanical work. Overall, you will be able to work under pressure and to strict deadlines, carry out duties as detailed on job cards to manufacturer and company standards, use initiative and prioritise workload to meet delivery times and customers’ expectations, and be able to work independently but liaise effectively with colleagues and support others by multi-tasking during busy periods. A UK driving licence with minimal points is essential at this stage.
