  • Independent Garage
  • Basic salary up to £40k DOE
  • Monday to Friday (8:30am to 5:30pm) working week with optional Saturday overtime
Are you an experienced Vehicle Technician seeking a new opportunity in Plymouth, Devon? Our client, a reputable and well-established automotive repair centre, is looking to recruit a skilled Vehicle Technician to join their dedicated team. This opportunity offers the chance to work in a busy workshop environment with a focus on quality service and long-term career prospects.

Duties
  • Diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicle issues across all makes and models
  • Conducting routine servicing, including oil changes, brake repairs, suspension work, and engine replacements
  • Fitting cam belts, brakes, and suspension components
  • Performing diagnostic work using various tools and equipment
  • Replacing gearboxes and engines where necessary, without strip/rebuild work on automatic transmissions
  • Assisting with MOT testing, if qualified, or undergoing training post-probation
  • Ensuring all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
Candidate spec
  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a busy workshop environment
  • Competent in diagnostics and heavy mechanical repairs
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical systems and engine work
  • Ideally, hold current MOT tester certification, or be willing to undertake training after probation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and on own initiative
  • Full UK driving licence
