Duties

Carry out safe dismantling and reassembly of damaged vehicles in line with repair estimates and manufacturer guidelines
Refit and reconnect electrical, mechanical, and trim components with precision and care
Support the inspection process by identifying additional damage or parts requirements during dismantling or repair stages
Ensure all vehicle repairs meet high technical and cosmetic standards
Check parts availability, match repairs accurately to estimates, and handle unused components correctly
Conduct quality checks and safety tests to ensure vehicle integrity before handover
Maintain a clean and organised working environment adhering to health and safety standards
Identify and report any discrepancies or additional repair needs during the process
Support the workshop team to maintain efficiency and meet deadlines
Follow all health and safety policies, use PPE correctly, and ensure safe working practices at all times

Candidate spec

Minimum of three years’ experience in vehicle dismantling and reassembly within an accident repair environment
Good understanding of mechanical, electrical, and trim components
Ability to interpret repair methods, estimates, and technical instructions
Strong attention to detail and quality standards
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Good awareness of health and safety responsibilities in the workshop
IMI accreditation in MET is highly desirable
Experience in bodyshops or accident repair centres is advantageous
Familiarity with modern vehicle systems and manufacturer repair procedures is preferred
