We are currently sourcing Sales Assistant / Driver to join a busy team based in Sparkford. This role offers a competitive basic salary of around £29,000  depending on experience. The ideal Parts Assistant / Driver will play a vital part in delivering excellent customer service while efficiently managing parts inventory and local deliveries.   • Monday - Friday 8AM - 5PM or 9AM - 6PM and 1 in 3 Saturdays on a rota
Duties:
  • Safely operate company vehicles for local deliveries and pickups, ensuring timely service.
  • Assist customers in-store with product information and support sales initiatives.
  • Load and unload goods, sometimes involving heavy lifting, with safety as a priority.
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with team members regarding schedules, customer requests, and daily operational issues.
  • Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Support warehouse activities such as stock organisation and inventory management.
  • Providing exceptional customer service both face-to-face and via phone enquiries.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a delivery driver with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating commercial vehicles.
  • Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of local routes and navigation tools to optimise delivery routes.
  • Strong organisational skills for handling multiple tasks.
  • Attention to detail, especially when recording inventory and order details.
  • Experience in parts sales, warehouse operations, or logistics is advantageous.
  • Parts mechanical knowledge is preferred but not essential.
