Service Centre Manager - Cheltenham
  • Salary: Around £35,000 per annum (negotiable pending experience), with plans for a bonus scheme to be introduced.
  • Hours: 8:15am-5:30pm Monday to Friday

Our client, a family-run independent automotive service centre based in the Cheltenham region, is currently looking for a Centre Manager to join their team.

Reporting to the Business Owner, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the business.
  • Leading and supporting a small team of Vehicle Technicians.
  • Allocating jobs and managing the workshop schedule.
  • Carrying out ad hoc workshop duties when required.
  • Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Liaising with customers and providing clear, professional advice.
  • Preparing estimates and keeping customers updated on progress.
  • Ordering parts and managing supplier relationships, including reconciling supplier statements and reports.
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety and workshop housekeeping.
  • Helping to grow the business through excellent workmanship and customer service.
In order to be eligible, our client is looking for an experienced motor trade professional with strong workshop knowledge/management experience. Previous mechanical experience working on the tools and being comfortable working hands-on when needed would be highly beneficial, but is non-essential, provided you have the relevant automotive knowledge and management experience. You will be confident managing a team and organising a busy workshop, be customer-focused with excellent communication skills, be capable of identifying and generating additional work where possible, and be reliable, organised and commercially aware. A UK driving licence with minimal points is essential.
