Commercial Vehicle Technician / Fleet Mechanic
  • Location: Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire
  • Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm
  • Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Vehicle Technician / Fleet Mechanic to join an established vehicle rental and sales business in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.

This is a varied, hands-on role working primarily on a commercial vehicle rental fleet, ensuring vehicles are serviced, maintained, diagnosed and prepared to a high standard and kept on the road.

The successful Commercial Vehicle Technician will also be involved with preparing commercial vehicles for sale, assisting with vehicle conversions and installing lifts into WAV vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Service, maintain and diagnose faults across a commercial vehicle rental fleet
  • Carry out routine servicing and preventative maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
  • Prepare commercial vehicles for sale
  • Assist with vehicle conversions and modifications
  • Install lifts into WAV vehicles
  • Manage and maintain servicing schedules across the fleet
  • Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and are safe and roadworthy
  • Identify any additional work or repairs required
  • Work efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
  • Maintain accurate records of servicing and maintenance work
About You: The ideal Commercial Vehicle Technician will have:
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Fleet Technician or similar
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic experience
  • Experience working on commercial vehicles would be highly advantageous
  • The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • A proactive and practical approach to problem solving
  • Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
  • A willingness to get involved with a varied range of mechanical and conversion work
  • A full UK driving licence
