Perfect Placement Automotive Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Branch Manager to join a well-established independent garage and MOT centre in Manchester.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of a busy branch, or for an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester who is ready to progress their career into a management position.

The Role:

As Branch Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the site, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high standards of workmanship and helping the branch achieve its commercial targets.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the day-to-day running of the branch and workshop.
  • Leading and supporting the technical team to ensure high standards of work.
  • Carrying out MOT testing and/or supporting the MOT operation where required.
  • Diagnosing and overseeing vehicle repairs and maintenance.
  • Managing customer relationships and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Monitoring workshop performance, productivity and profitability.
  • Managing bookings, workflow and technician workloads.
  • Ensuring health & safety and company procedures are followed.
  • Supporting and developing members of the workshop team.
  • Helping to drive business growth and achieve branch targets.

About You:
  • The ideal individual will come from a strong technical automotive background, ideally with previous MOT testing experience and a good understanding of workshop operations.
We would particularly like to hear from:
  • Experienced Branch, Workshop or Aftersales Managers.
  • Senior Vehicle Technicians or Workshop Controllers looking to progress.
  • Experienced MOT Testers with strong technical knowledge and leadership potential.
  • Technicians with experience of running a workshop or supervising a team.
You will need to be confident dealing with customers and colleagues, well organised and commercially aware, with the ability to lead a team and keep a busy workshop operating efficiently.
