- Dismantling and repairing damaged vehicles, repairing panels or replacing those beyond repair
- Repairing and replacing chassis and structural components in line with manufacturer guidance
- Using equipment including jigs, fixtures and welding tools safely
- Carrying out structural repairs and panel replacement to a high standard
- Ensuring all repaired vehicles meet company and customer quality expectations
- Maintaining tools, equipment and the work area in a safe and tidy condition
- Working alongside colleagues and management to ensure repair schedules and quality targets are met
- Communicating effectively regarding job progress, delays or additional work required
- Supporting less experienced technicians where required
- Attending training courses to stay up to date with new techniques and repair methods
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in vehicle body panel repair and replacement
- Knowledge of welding, jigging and structural repair techniques
- Understanding of manufacturer specifications, technical bulletins and repair methods
- Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Awareness of health, safety and COSHH regulations within a bodyshop
- IMI Accreditation in Panel is preferred
- Experience with aluminium and high-strength steel would be beneficial
- Experience supervising or mentoring less experienced staff would be beneficial
