Are you an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter looking for a rewarding opportunity with a leading company dedicated to maintaining vital infrastructure?

Our client is seeking a skilled Mobile Plant Fitter to join their team in Durham. This role offers a chance to work on a diverse range of plant equipment across various sites, supporting the water, power, gas, and telecoms networks.

Duties as a Mobile Plant Fitter will include:
  • Service, repair, and maintain plant equipment including pumps, generators, excavators, and site plant
  • Carry out inspections, safety checks, and preventative maintenance
  • Identify faults and conduct first-time repairs to minimise downtime
  • Complete PUWER, LOLER inspections, and defect checks on trailers and lifting equipment
  • Log all service activities accurately via tablet, including photos, parts used, and time spent
  • Work independently in the field while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
Requirements that the Mobile Plant Fitter will need:
  • Hands-on experience with pumps, generators, excavators, or small plant machinery
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Own hand tools; specialist tools provided by the employer
  • Ability to work independently on-site
  • Relevant qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Lantra, or NPTC small plant qualifications (desirable)
  • Experience with LOLER inspections (training available for strong candidates)
