Our client, a family-run automotive commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple centres across Southern England, is currently recruiting for Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Technicians to work either a split shift or a night shift at one of their clients in Swindon.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager and working as part of a team, your key objectives will include:
  • To complete all service work and defined maintenance work of the utmost quality and efficiency within manufacturers' time schedules.
  • To deliver professional performance in all aspects of work activities to make an essential contribution to the value and retention of customers.
  • Support colleagues in the workshop with any technical issues and innovations.
  • Ability to carry out comprehensive diagnosis and repairs of malfunctions.
  • To ensure that all company policies and procedures applicable to their area of responsibility are always adhered to.
  • Document the results of diagnosis/repairs/service/safety inspections.
To be eligible, you will be qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair with several years' experience beyond your qualification; however, our client has stressed that if you're an equally qualified Car/LCV Technician looking to make the move over to HGV, then they are willing to offer the necessary training to convert over. Overall, you will need to be a committed individual and a good team player. You must be able to produce high-quality work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. Technicians with an active HGV driving licence would be highly advantageous; however, this is non-essential.

  • Night Shift: Monday to Friday, 10:00pm-7:30am, with a 30-minute unpaid break.
