We are recruiting for a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join an established automotive business experiencing continued growth. With plans to expand its workshop facilities and a strong focus on retaining and developing its team, this is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a stable, long-term position without weekend working.
The business is keen to speak with experienced technicians who can confidently diagnose faults, carry out complex repairs and contribute to a positive, team-focused workshop environment. An MOT testing licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
The Diagnostic Vehicle Technician Role:
- Carry out servicing, maintenance and mechanical repairs across a range of vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults.
- Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and determine appropriate repair methods.
- Carry out vehicle inspections, fault-finding procedures and component testing.
- Work confidently with modern vehicle systems, with electrical and electric vehicle knowledge being advantageous.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining high standards of workmanship and health and safety.
- Support other workshop technicians and share technical knowledge where appropriate.
- Carry out MOT testing where qualified and required.
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Senior Technician.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Relevant automotive qualifications, ideally to Level 3 or equivalent.
- An MOT testing licence would be desirable but is not essential.
- Experience with modern vehicle technology, electrical systems or EVs would be beneficial.
- A reliable, professional approach with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Someone who takes pride in their work, works well within a team and is happy to help colleagues.
- A full UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
- Basic salary of £32,000 – £34,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Additional bonus earning potential.
- Monday to Friday working hours, generally around 7:30am – 5:00pm.
- Flexible working patterns available by agreement.
- No weekend working expected.
- 25 days' annual holiday, with Christmas off.
