HGV Technician Opportunity in Shrewsbury 
  • Basic Salary: Flexible DOE
  • Working Hours: Average 39 hours per week, alternating shifts
Week 1: Monday to Thursday, 7:00am – 3:30pm, Friday, 7:00am – 2:30pm
Week 2: Monday, 2:00pm – 11:00pm, Tuesday to Thursday, 2:30pm – 10:30pm, Friday, 2:00pm – 10:30pm, Saturday, 8:00am – 1:00pm (paid overtime)

What you’ll be doing:
  • Servicing, maintaining and repairing HGVs and commercial vehicles
  • Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using diagnostic equipment
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections and identifying defects
  • Completing repairs in line with manufacturer specifications and company standards
  • Preparing vehicles for MOT testing and completing any necessary remedial work
  • Completing job cards, inspection sheets and relevant paperwork accurately
  • Identifying and reporting additional repair requirements
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe workshop environment
  • Working alongside the wider workshop team to maintain an efficient workflow
  • Following health and safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
What we’re looking for:
  • Previous experience as an HGV Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician
  • Strong knowledge of HGV servicing, maintenance and repair
  • Experience diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
  • Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
  • Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A reliable, organised and safety-conscious approach
  • Full UK driving licence advantageous, with relevant HGV licence entitlements also beneficial
