We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our established independent service centre, which has been delivering trusted automotive services since 1985. This is an excellent opportunity for an all-round mechanical technician to work on cars, vans and commercial vehicles within a busy workshop environment.

Benefits:
  • Salary of £28,000 to £40,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Varied workload covering servicing, MOT preparation, repairs and diagnostics
  • Opportunity to work on both cars and vans, including commercial vehicles
  • Monday to Thursday and Saturday working pattern
  • Potential for a Monday to Thursday arrangement following a successful interview
  • Flexible start and finish times around the usual 9.00am to 6.00pm working hours

Duties:
  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on cars and vans
  • Diagnose and repair a wide range of mechanical faults
  • Complete brake repairs, clutch replacements and engine-related repairs
  • Investigate and resolve varied faults using suitable diagnostic methods
  • Work on commercial vehicles and used cars to a high standard
  • Complete allocated jobs efficiently and independently
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Deliver reliable workmanship that supports excellent customer service
  • Take responsibility for jobs without needing regular supervision or referral to the owner
Requirements:
  • At least five years’ experience working as an all-round mechanical technician
  • A broad understanding of servicing, repairs, diagnostics and mechanical fault finding
  • Confidence working independently on cars, vans and commercial vehicles
  • The ability to diagnose problems accurately and resolve them efficiently
  • A reliable, professional and hardworking approach
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
  • A long-term commitment to developing your career within an independent workshop
  • Individuals should ideally live within a reasonable commuting distance of Blackburn
