The role of a Vehicle Rental Administrator involves answering the phone, taking bookings, facilitating vehicle collections and returns, as well as general office administration duties. You will be expected to be able to support customers through the whole process of renting a vehicle from booking appointments, organising collection, checking paperwork in line with regulations and inspecting the vehicle upon return.

This role could be based in a main Dealership which has a Vehicle Hire Department or could be in a privately owned Vehicle Leasing and Hire business. All businesses will have their own way of operating but will generally require a Vehicle Rental Administrator to have good people skills, be highly organised and able to check and maintain records as well as having a strong attention to detail.

Working as a Vehicle Rental Administrator you can expect to work around 37hours per week and this will usually include some weekend working. This role offers great scope for progression; the natural next steps would be a Vehicle Leasing Executive or Vehicle Rental Team Leader but since you will be gaining many transferrable skills, the opportunities across the motor trade are wide open
