We are seeking a Multi-skilled Bodyshop Operative for our Client based in Tonbridge, Kent

Our client is an award-winning automotive Accident Repair groups, and one the largest and fastest growing groups within the UK. They are a BSI Pas 10125 Accredited Bodyshop, with multiple manufacturer accreditations. They have the latest technology and equipment available in the Accident Repair Market and offers ATA Training Accreditations alongside a fantastic working environment.

Our client’s site has state of the art facilities which has benefited from significant investment. They are to go to for Alloy Wheel Damage Repairs, Bumper Scuffs, Chips, Cracks & hole repairs, alongside panel scratches, dents, and ding repairs.

Duties of Multi-skilled Bodyshop Operative advisor with our client:
  • Carry out repairs to chassis and panels in line with manufacturers/industry best practice, as applicable, apply filler technique where necessary.
  • Receive vehicle, job card, Quality Control (QC) forms & repair methods, check work to be done and accuracy of information and that the job has been stripped fully before continuing and check quality of MET strip, taking remedial action if necessary.
  • Ensure that QC form has been completed by Technician who previously worked on vehicle and Senior Technician has countersigned when applicable.
  • Ensure that vehicle internal car care kit fitted (seat covers, steering wheel cover and floor mat) to prevent dust transfer.
  • Ensure repair methods are attached for each repair (high importance)
  • When necessary, seek management advice via TIS2WEB, Escribe and manufacturer information for repair methods.
  • Refit existing parts and new parts to vehicle once painting has been completed, when required.
  • Document any other vehicle problems noted during repairs and seek guidance from workshop controller/bodyshop estimator if necessary.
  • Ensure complete final check sheet and job card leave the department with the vehicle.
  • Ensure maintenance of tools, equipment, and other materials
  • Participate fully in measurement and feedback processes, to complete and return personnel documentation on time and to embrace personal training and development opportunities.
  • Work to support other team members in achievement of their objectives when asked to do so or required by their manager.
What our client expects of their Multi-skilled Bodyshop Operative:
  • Automotive systems Knowledge (e.g. basic vehicle layout, function and location of parts).
  • Knowledge of the quality control and inspection requirements of the Bodyshop department.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturers products and recent improvements through technical bulletins, training courses and technical magazines etc.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturers body repair component replacement and basic mechanical sequences.
  • Knowledge of Welding, brazing and other joining procedures and processes used in the body repair process.
  • Knowledge of Filler and sealer properties and which ones to use in the circumstances.
  • The tools to be used for appropriate operations, together with maintenance procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of Safety procedures for all bodyshop equipment.
  • Knowledge of Manufacturers standards and objectives, retail facility and individual’s objectives, both cultural and financial.
  • Use chassis straightening equipment (jig) in a safe and effective manner.
  • Use manufacturer and industry body repair procedures.
  • Maintain high levels of housekeeping, mindful of cross contamination.
  • Ensure that all health and safety /COSHH legislation and internal procedures are followed. and environmental best practice is observed.
  • Ensure the maintenance and security of tools, equipment, and other materials.
