Basic Salary: £34,255 - £40,885 OTE £45,685
Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00 with Saturday mornings on a rota

We are seeking an experienced Vehicle Technician to join our client’s family-run business in Brighton. With over 80 sites along the South Coast and 165 years of trading, our client is renowned for delivering exceptional customer service with honesty, quality, and care at the heart of their business.

As a Vehicle Technician, you will conduct full examinations of vehicles, including electronic vehicle health checks, and identify non-routine defects and faults in the workshop or during road tests. You will undertake timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in line with technical standards, providing a knowledgeable, courteous, and responsive service to all colleagues and workshop customers. You will work closely with the service team to keep them informed of progress and fully briefed on completed work, discuss technical issues directly with customers when required, offer advice and support to workshop apprentices, and work with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods of work to improve efficiency.

Duties of a Vehicle Technician:
  • Conducting full examinations of vehicles, including electronic vehicle health checks
  • Identifying non-routine defects and faults in the workshop or during road tests
  • Undertaking timely repair and servicing of customer vehicles in line with technical standards
  • Providing knowledgeable, courteous, responsive, and efficient service to colleagues and customers
  • Working closely with the front of house service team to keep them informed on vehicle progress
  • Discussing technical issues directly with customers when required
  • Offering technical advice and support to workshop apprentices
  • Working with the wider workshop team to design and implement new methods to improve efficiency
Requirements for the Vehicle Technician role:
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
  • Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician, ideally within a main dealer environment
  • Ability to work within defined processes and promote best practice
  • Customer-focused with clear communication skills
  • First-time fix mentality with commitment to continuous learning
  • Team player, able to support and mentor apprentices
  • MOT Licence desirable but not essential
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
