Location: Haslemere, Surrey
Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + performance-based bonuses
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM; Saturdays on a 1-in-2 rota 
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role We are recruiting for an experienced Service Advisor with at least 2 years of experience in an automotive service reception or customer-facing role within the motor trade. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, acting as the key point of contact between customers and the workshop team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless customer experience while maintaining the efficiency of the service department.

Key Responsibilities As a Service Advisor, your duties will include:

  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, listen to their concerns, and schedule vehicle service and repair appointments with precision.
  • Liaising with Technicians: Interpret customer concerns and communicate effectively with workshop technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair work.
  • Providing Updates: Keep customers informed about the progress of their vehicle, including any additional repairs required, and provide clear, transparent explanations.
  • Cost and Time Estimation: Accurately estimate repair times and costs, ensuring customers are fully informed before work begins.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage service bookings, maintain accurate records, and process invoices using the garage’s management systems.
  • Customer Satisfaction: Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring prompt resolution to maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Workshop Coordination: Track vehicles through the repair process, ensuring timely completion and quality control.
  • Upselling Opportunities: Identify and recommend additional services or products that benefit the customer, boosting revenue for the garage.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Essential:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Service Advisor or in a similar customer-facing role within the automotive industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with customers and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • A professional and approachable demeanor with a customer-first attitude.
  • Basic IT proficiency, including experience with garage management systems or similar software.
  • A valid UK driving license (preferred but not essential).
  • Desirable:

  • Knowledge of automotive systems and repairs to effectively communicate with technicians and customers.
  • Experience in upselling services or products in a retail or service environment.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software such as Kerridge, Pinnacle, or similar platforms.
