Field Service Engineer / Plant Mechanic – Mobile Role (Midlands)
  • Location: Birmingham and Surrounding Areas
  • Employment Type: Full-Time | Mobile Role
  • Basic Salary up to £41,500
  • Overtime 1.5x 
  • 40-hours a  week 
Are you an experienced Field Service Engineer with a background in plant or heavy machinery maintenance? We’re seeking skilled professionals to join a reputable and expanding team, supporting customers across the Midlands region. This is a mobile role based in or around Birmingham, offering flexibility, responsibility, and ongoing professional development.

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing construction plant and equipment for a wide range of clients. Your day-to-day duties will include:
  • Providing onsite technical support for machinery within the Midlands region
  • Conducting scheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs
  • Diagnosing and resolving mechanical and technical faults efficiently
  • Delivering high-quality workmanship in a timely manner
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety regulations
  • Supervising apprentices when required, ensuring best practices are followed
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
We are seeking a Field Service Engineer who can demonstrate:
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant/Land-Based Mechanical Engineering
  • OR 10+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience servicing a wide range of heavy tracked plant machinery
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • A valid CPCS card is desirable
