Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator (VDA) needed in Lydd, Kent
  • Basic Salary:£45,000 (DOE) + Bonus
  • On Target Earnings: £50,000
  • Monday – Friday, 07:30 – 17:00 (some flexibility required)
Our client is a growing Accident Repair Centre in Lydd with a newly refurbished, bright, and modern workshop. With insurance work volumes increasing from 3 jobs per day to 6, they are now seeking an experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor (VDA) to join their team.

Recent investment has transformed the site — new lighting, heating, staff facilities, and a new oven arriving soon. This is a business on the up, and they’re keen to bring the right people along with them.

Duties of a Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator with our client:
  • Inspect and assess damaged vehicles, calculating repair costs and timescales
  • Identify the correct repair methodology using Audatex/Thatcham Escribe
  • Prepare accurate electronic and manual estimates for insurer approval
  • Liaise with insurance companies, customers, and engineers to authorise repairs
  • Ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality repair methods
  • Produce workshop job schedules, liaise with workshop staff, and keep customers updated
  • Work closely with parts suppliers to ensure timely and accurate orders
What our client expects of their Vehicle Damage Assessor/Estimator:
  • Audatex experience is highly desirable
  • ATA, NVQ Level 3, or City & Guilds qualifications preferred — time-served assessors considered
  • Strong background in a Bodyshop environment
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume repair setting
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Competence with Bodyshop management systems
  • UK/EU Driving Licence required
  • A hands-on, team-player attitude and customer-focused mindset
