- Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM Monday - Friday, Saturday mornings on a rota
Key Responsibilities of a Garage Manager with our client:
- Lead and Motivate: Inspire and manage a small team of skilled vehicle technicians, fostering a collaborative and motivating workshop environment.
- Semi-Productive Role: Actively contribute in the workshop, performing tyre fitting, vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and / or MOT testing depending on background to support the team during peak demand.
- Customer Service Excellence: Manage the retail desk in a fast-paced garage, addressing customer needs, booking jobs, and maximising sales opportunities while maintaining exceptional service standards.
- Team Development: Train, mentor, and upskill technicians to ensure they are equipped with the latest automotive techniques and certifications.
- Operational Management: Oversee workshop efficiency, manage job scheduling, and ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards.
- Reputation Management: Uphold the garage’s excellent reputation by delivering industry service and technical expertise.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in tyre fitting, vehicle mechanics, and MOT testing, with the ability to step into the workshop as needed.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and work closely with a small, dedicated team of technicians in a fast-paced environment.
- Automotive Background: Experience in an independent or fast-fit garage setting, with a passion for imprinting your leadership style on the business.
- Customer Focus: Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage customers and build lasting relationships.
- Multitasking: Strong organisational skills to manage workshop operations, customer interactions, and sales opportunities simultaneously.
- Technical Understanding: In-depth knowledge of vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and industry standards.
- Salary: £38,000 – £40,000 per annum.
