Join our client in Woking, Surrey, as a Classic Car Technician / Engine Tuner and become part of a renowned garage specialising in classic European and American vehicles. This is an exceptional opportunity for skilled technicians who are passionate about classic cars, particularly in tuning and restoration, to work in a dynamic environment with a diverse range of high-performance vehicles.

Our client is seeking a dedicated Classic Car Technician / Engine Tuner to lead their team, focusing on carburettor tuning, chassis and engine setup, and high-end restoration projects. If you are enthusiastic about classic cars and eager to work on unique and specialised vehicles, this role could be perfect for you.

  • Competitive basic salary of up to £40,000 depending on experience
  • OTE potential of approximately £43,000
  • Monday to Friday working hours 8am to 6pm

Duties as the new Classic Car Technician / Engine Tuner include:
  • Tuning carburettors including Weber, SU, Holley, Edelbrock, and other fuel systems
  • Servicing and maintaining classic European and American cars
  • Performing mechanical repairs and restoration modifications
  • Setting up chassis and engines, including rolling road testing
  • Lead and oversee a team of classic car engineers and technicians
  • Fabrication work using MIG and TIG welding for exhaust and custom parts
  • Managing workshop operations and ensuring high standards of work
Specifications for the Classic Car Technician / Engine Tuner role:
  • Proven experience in classic car restoration or engineering, with a focus on European and American vehicles
  • Strong knowledge of carburettor tuning and engine setup
  • Experience with rolling road testing and chassis alignment is desirable
  • Basic fabrication skills including MIG & TIG welding
  • Enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and passionate about classic vehicles
  • Ability to lead and manage a small team effectively
  • Availability to start around February or March to support a busy period
